CAES: COMPRESSED AIR ENERGY STORAGE

INNOVATION. PRESERVATION. GROWTH.

Bedrock’s Compressed Air Energy Storage project (CAES) is an innovative plan to use proven technology to address energy waste, safeguard the environment, and stabilize energy costs, ushering in a more sustainable future for Ontario and for Canada.
CAES: COMPRESSED AIR ENERGY STORAGE

EFFICIENT. RESILIENT. SUSTAINABLE.

Bedrock’s Compressed Air Energy Storage solution (CAES) stores surplus energy generated in periods of low demand as compressed air. During periods of high demand, this compressed air is used to create electricity for Ontario’s residences and businesses. This reduces needless energy waste, stabilizes energy costs, and provides a blueprint for a cleaner, greener future in Ontario — and the infrastructure to deliver on that promise. By implementing CAES, surplus generated electricity is stored as compressed air in natural rock reservoirs. Using proven technology and making use of existing environmental features reduces needless energy waste, stabilizes energy costs, and provides a blueprint for a cleaner, greener future in Ontario.
CAES: COMPRESSED AIR ENERGY STORAGE

AN INNOVATIVE
GREEN SOLUTION

Canada’s net-zero goals require us to take on the dual challenges of curbing energy waste and developing renewable energy sources. Bedrock’s Compressed Air Energy Storage solution (CAES) uses emissions-free technology to tackle both problems while contributing to a stronger, more reliable energy grid to power the lives of hundreds of thousands of Ontarians.

LEARN MORE ABOUT CAES

Curious about what Bedrock’s Compressed Air Energy Storage (CAES) is and how it works? Read more about how this innovative technology will reduce energy waste and lower energy costs, ensuring a greener future for all Ontarians.
Environmental sustainability and rising energy costs are top-of-mind for many Ontarians, and rightfully so. As much as rising costs are an issue, so too is energy waste. Innovation is clearly needed in the sector. Given the Government of Canada’s net-zero emissions goals, it stands to reason that an optimal situation would be one that curbs energy waste and stabilizes energy prices while trending towards net-zero ambitions. Bedrock’s Compressed Air Energy Storage (CAES) solution ticks these boxes and many more, allowing for wider use of surplus renewable energy in an exciting, innovative way to brighten the future for all Ontarians.
