Accessibility
Bedrock Energy Corp. is committed to making this site usable by as many people as possible, including people using assistive technology.
The standard we work to
This site has been built to aim at WCAG 2.1 Level AA, the standard referenced by the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act. It has not yet been audited against that standard by an independent reviewer, so we describe it as an aim rather than a certified result.
What has been done
- Every page can be operated by keyboard alone, and the first thing on each page is a link that skips the navigation.
- Headings are nested in order, so a screen reader can move through a page by structure.
- Images carry alternative text, and images that are decoration are marked as such so they are skipped rather than announced.
- Text contrast is checked against the background it sits on, including in charts and diagrams.
- Animation stops for anyone whose system asks for reduced motion.
- Video is never set to play automatically with sound.
- Form fields have real labels, and errors are described in words rather than by colour alone.
Known limitations
The site diagram showing how the assets work together is a visual explanation. It carries a text description for screen readers, and the same information is written out in the surrounding copy, but on a narrow screen it scrolls sideways within its own frame.
Some documents linked from this site are PDFs produced by other organisations. We do not control their internal accessibility. Ask us and we will supply the content in another format.
