Robert S. McLeese

Chair

Robert S. McLeese is the 2017 Hedley Palmer award recipient which is presented to honour an individual who in the judgment of the APPrO Board has made an outstanding contribution to the Ontario power industry. Rob is a Past President of IPPSO and a former Director & Treasurer of APPrO (the successor Ontario IPP industry association) as well as past Chairman of the Toronto Board of Trade Electricity Task Force. Mr. McLeese was a Director of Pristine Power Inc., owner of the York Energy Center (393 MW), before its acquisition by Veresen Inc. in 2010. He is also a past Director and Treasurer of the Toronto Atmospheric Fund, a past Member of the Board of Management of the Ontario Centre of Excellence for Energy and a past Director of Creststreet Power and Income Fund which developed three wind farms totalling 159 MW.

Albert C. Rettenmaier

Director

Albert C. Rettenmaier has 35 years of development, engineering, construction and operating experience in hydrogen, ammonia, power, oil & gas, carbon sequestration, chemicals, LNG, renewables, gasification, biomass, and renewable fuels. Process engineering and technology development, project management, EPC, operations, technical advisory, project finance due diligence and independent engineering. Pilot scale to major international capital projects. Strong technical, leadership, business development, relationship and communication skills, broad industry knowledge and proven ability to succeed.

Carmine Marcello

Director

I am the founder of Hetherington Kearney Group (“HKG”), a management consulting firm specializing in providing strategic advice to governments, utilities, regulators, renewable energy developers and cleantech start-ups across North America, the Middle East, and the Caribbean.  HKG was created following my retirement from my post as President and CEO of Hydro One after nearly 30 years in the utility industry.  During my time at Hydro One, I oversaw all aspects of the transmission and distribution business.

Gregory Vesey

Director

An energy and technology executive with 39 years of experience in the energy industry, 35 as a member of Chevron management. Strengths include a long-term background in commercial business with content knowledge in LNG and natural gas marketing, supply and trading. I also have a technology commercialization background with experience on numerous successful start-up boards. Well-connected and visible in the energy community and a recognized leader in the LNG/Natural Gas community through my term as Chairman of the Natural Gas Supply Association (NGSA). I continue engagement with the Houston energy community and the global

LNG business, and enjoy using my skills as a leader with experience running large, complex organizations and small, closely held companies operating in a global market.

James (Jim) A Schultz

Director

Jim is an accomplished energy and gas distribution industry executive retired from Enbridge Inc with extensive expertise. Successfully directed major acquisitions and the development of Wind and Solar electricity projects at Enbridge’s Green Energy. Led Enbridge Gas Distribution, overseeing millions of customers across diverse regions, while managing regulatory, financial, operational, and HR functions. Pioneered strategic growth for Enbridge Pipeline’s liquid operations and managed critical shipper relationships. 

Mark Savory

Director

An accomplished and self-motivated energy/infrastructure business leader and professional engineer with over 35 years’ experience in project development, project management and construction, infrastructure projects, process and power (tidal, wind, thermal, biomass, combustion turbines, reciprocating engines, energy storage systems) systems, power plant management, operations, maintenance, asset management and design. Extensive experience in infrastructure projects, construction management, project development (including regulatory permits/consents and project financing), commercial contract negotiation and contract management, technical due diligence investigations, root cause failure analysis, project management, insurance risk assessments and insurance claim investigations.

William B. Rossiter

Director

Proactive, results oriented project and operations management professional with extensive experience with facility operations, construction, commissioning, and start-up of fossil fuel (coal, gas) and renewable power generation Facilities. Well-versed in leadership, problem solving, management, construction, facility operations and cross-functional communication. A well-rounded professional with a keen understanding of business priorities who has been recognized for consistent success in managing projects to successful completion. An organizational leader who encourages a cohesive team environment that promotes a culture that values safety performance and strives to enhance profit and operational performance.

Peter Proszanski

Director

With over 20 years of practical experience, Peter Proszanski heads the Real Estate / Corporate Commercial departments of the firm. He has a diverse institutional and entrepreneurial client base. His extensive knowledge and understanding of numerous areas of the law reflect his ability to identify and resolve difficult issues creatively and effectively.

Mr. Proszanski is actively involved in community endeavours and is a member of the Board of Directors of the Good Shepherd Ministries, an organization providing shelter and food to the homeless in the City of Toronto. Under Mr. Proszanski’s guidance, the firm has provided pro bono legal advice to many charitable institutions, such as the Myelin Project, the HOBY (a youth leadership organization), the Canadian Muslim Association, Canadian Friends of the Western Wall Heritage Foundation Inc., the Church of the Street Connection Inc. and other charitable organizations.

Stephen Sanguiliano

Vice-President, Project Management

Stephen Sangiuliano is an accredited and versed Project Management professional with expertise in the renewables, energy, and environment fields. He is an excellent strategist and communicator with proven critical thinking skills developed in both private and public sector.

Tanya Mackie

Director, Project Management

As Director of Project Management, Tanya provides a personal approach to project management services. With 18 years of experience in the construction industry, she has managed several complex, high risk, multi-year projects. Clients appreciate her calm-under-pressure manner. Suppliers, subcontractors and other project staff (including her own staff) value her team approach when addressing the inevitable challenges that are part of all projects.

Zain Javed is an experienced professional with a diverse background in Project Management, Sales and Operations. He is an analytical thinker with a diverse skill set in project management, operations management and sales.

Evan Tummillo

Director, Research and External Relations

Evan Tummillo is a highly resourceful policy, research and relations advisor. He currently serves as Director of Research and External Relations in an emerging energy industry, acting as a point of contact between ministry staff and the project management team.
